 Strictly USA Newsletter: April 2013  MADE IN USA MEANS MADE IN USA:Don't be fooled by imitators! When you are out shopping and looking at labels and tags like the good economic patriots we know you are, you will notice words like, "Designed in USA", "Crafted in USA", "Engineered in USA", "Packaged in USA", "Finished in USA", and "Painted in USA" etc. These words are rather deceptive and by using them, the company, while trying to sound patriotic, is very much admitting the opposite: OUR STUFF IS NOT MADE HERE! I saw a good one the other day: The product was I-phone accessories. The big print on the back of the package proclaimed: "Engineered and Designed in the USA" next to a US flag But...in the corner in tiny print: "Made in China"! C'mon! It's not really a matter of semantics either: Engineering, designing and crafting and other "office" functions employs tens. Manufacturing and factory work on the other hand employs thousands... And we NEED those kinds of jobs! Company and product names can also be deceiving. Great example: "American Girl" Dolls (made in China). Unfortunately, there are many products which depict the American Flag or contain the words.."American" or "USA" and are actually made overseas. Just be aware of this as you shop and don't take anything at face value. Always examine the items closely to ensure the item is Made in USA. Bottom line: if companies could use the words "Made In...", they would. Nothing else will suffice. Look for "Made in USA" whenever you shop.
